Each year, The Chronicle of Philanthropy releases its list of America’s Favorite Charities, ranking the top U.S. nonprofits based on the amount they raise through gifts of cash and stock. This year, United Way earned the #1 spot, recognized at the top among 100 nonprofits that earn the most support from individual Americans, private foundations, and corporate philanthropies.

This recognition is more than a ranking—it is a reflection of the deep trust and continued relevance of our mission. In a time when communities face complex challenges and donors have countless options, being named the nation’s most supported nonprofit is a powerful testament to the impact of our work.

This distinction belongs to every local United Way in our network, the hardworking staff, and—most importantly—to our donors. At this time, when donors have many choices, earning a place among the nation’s most respected and supported nonprofits is such an honor.

For over 100 years, United Way of Greater Los Angeles’s vision to create pathways to prosperity so that everyone in our region can thrive would not be possible without you. Your belief in our mission fuels our ability to unite people, resources, and organizations to respond in times of crisis and build stronger, more resilient communities.

Having America’s trust in our work to serve the most vulnerable in our communities means the world to us.  Our work to make a way for all people to have financial stability, access to education, housing, and stronger, more resilient communities wouldn’t be possible without the support and generosity of thousands of Angelenos, corporate partners, institutions, and philanthropic foundations entrusting us with the funds we need to advance our mission.

Thank you for making United Way America’s favorite charity. Together, we are building a better future for all.
