While the issue of homelessness is complex, there is an amazing network of public, private, philanthropic, and volunteer entities all working together on programs and services that prevent homelessness and address the needs of currently unhoused Angelenos. This system is fueled by federal, state, and local funding, which includes Measure A, a local sales tax that United Way of Greater Los Angeles championed to passage in November 2024 and has become a lifeline of resources to prevent and address homelessness in L.A. County.

To help demystify the incredible network of organizations working every day on this important issue, United Way partnered with national system leader Corporation for Supportive Housing (CSH), VoxPop a local communications powerhouse, and several local government and philanthropic leaders to design an interactive tool to provide a foundation of information and access to link to additional details for those curious to learn more.

“Through this tool, we hope is that users will learn more about the strong network of organizations working together to address this complex challenge and click through to learn more about these incredible cross-sector leaders, their work, and how to support them in efforts to prevent and end homelessness,” said Emily Bradley, Director of Strategic Investments at United Way of Greater Los Angeles.

Explore and learn about LA’s Homelessness Response Ecosystem using United Way’s new interactive tool by visiting https://map.unitedwayla.org/

How to Use the Tool: After you click to open the webpage, you will be able to navigate the tool by hovering to preview and then click in to learn more about both key local leaders in the response system on the left-hand side and critical service categories on the left-hand side. As you click into either layer, the screen will change to show more details and provide links to additional information on the organization and services you are trying to learn more about. We encourage visitors to play with the features and click into the layers to explore the variety of organizations and services that are collaborating within our local homeless response ecosystem.

If you manage a program highlighted on the tool and notice anything that needs to be updated, please reach out to homeforgood@unitedwayla.org
