Our Future LA

Daring to dream bigger

What is it?

Propelled by a coalition of over 85 local nonprofits and thousands of passionate L.A. County residents, Our Future LA (OFLA) is working toward a future where everyone in Los Angeles has access to affordable housing, direct community investment, and stronger renter protections—no matter their zip code or income. Since its start in 2021, OFLA has mobilized thousands of people in support of policies surrounding renters’ protections, affordable housing production, and preservation of existing affordable housing.

What's the impact?

The passing of SB 679 in 2022, one of OFLA’s priority bills, now allows L.A. County to create the Los Angeles County Affordable Housing Solutions Agency (LACAHSA)—an independent housing agency with the power to protect low-income tenants from eviction, preserve current affordable housing, and provide ongoing funding for new affordable housing in every neighborhood countywide. This will be a first-of-its-kind independent housing agency in Los Angeles.

How can I get involved?
